Grand Diva and Carmen

Grand Diva on top and Carmen below. The colors are much darker red than the pics. I forgot how large the flowers of Grand Diva are. I like both of these and Carmen is a reliable bloomer. I've had Grand Diva for awhile but she us just taking off this year. I have noticed I am having better growth with the reds since we put up shade cloth in the summer.

Try putting some of your special papilio pollen on these, you never know.

I've got one seedling left of Benfica x papilio and I never was sure if it wasn't just a self. The pod was really large and that made me suspicious. I had several of them but I planted all of them out in the ground one season and something devoured all but one bulb which I still have but hasn't bloomed yet. Of course I'll know for sure as soon as I look at the flower if it was just a self.....here's hoping!!
