Grassy asparagus bed

Hi everyone, happy first day of spring! We were re-working the veggie plot yesterday and I'm moving and reorganizing before planting anything this year... totally missed to boat on onions, le sigh, but still have plenty in the ground from last year, LOL - and have found the Bermuda grass has really snuck into my asparagus patch. Since it is so entwined with the asparagus crowns and roots, I can't pull it and expect it to do much to help the problem... should I actually dig up the whole asparagus plant, separate the bermuda rhizomes from the crowns and then replant the crowns? Do I have to start my three-year asparagus clock over? :'(
