I am about to install a new lawn with eco-lawn seeds. Wildflower farm claims it can save 50-75% water (up to 100% on another claim) over traditional lawns. Would it be worth it still to install a sub-drip system such as Netafim to further save on water? Has anyone done this before?

Does anyone have an eco-lawn and feel that their lawn was successful enough with limited overhead sprinkler watering?

I am in the San Jose Bay area (Northern California). I'm trying to be environmentally and water-conscious but at the cost of $2000 more, I want to make sure that an eco-lawn or other no-mow lawn alternative would benefit from having a sub-drip system.
