Hi all—I'm redoing the kitchen in my little 1955 house. It's currently really closed off and inefficiently laid out. I'm pretty much re-doing everything: all new cabinets, counters, floor, appliances (already ordered appliances) and opening up the layout. I have a design pretty much finalized, but now I'm onto choosing cabinets...and I need help. I will sell this house eventually (at least not until another 5/10 years) so I want to make design choices that will appeal to most people, however the design style of the rest of my house is Scandinavian/Mid century modern, so I want the kitchen to fit in with that. I definitely want white quartz countertops, and I've already ordered my tile backsplash (picture attached, and also found here: https://www.wayfair.com/EliteTile-Karra-7-x-8-Hexagon-Porcelain-Field-Tile-EML3280.html?refid=TEM_WF_1452&mmid=718443516&csnid=8EBFE424-42DE-4760-962A-1434A927AC7D&libra_c=&libra_d=&libra_g=&cltr=) but I'm struggling on the cabinets. I'm currently leaning towards flat panel (non-glossy) white upper cabinets and walnut-stained wood shaker lower cabinets, but I'm not decided. What does everyone think? Flat, shaker, glossy, etc? A different color scheme completely?
