Oh boy, isn't this wonderful. And I read the migration is in full swing, with most of the Monarchs having departed their winter habitat in Mexico ... early arrivals are already being sighted in Texas. You're going to need all that milkweed, Jeannie!

What part of Texas are you in? I am thinking you are further south that I am -- my lantan froze to the ground and is just beginning to put out a few blooms. I am north of Houston and saw a faded looking Monarch Monday. My thought was it likely an early migrator.

I have the apparent offspring of two that hatched on a cutting I brought in during that hard freeze we had. I have 23 chrysalises, one hanging and two still eating. And I took half of what I had ti a friend to raise in her enclosure. And whether the one I saw Monday was a migrator or where ever she came from, she deposited more eggs on what is left of my milkweed. It's going to be a long season. I hope it is a good one.
