Thanks for the info and the link. I seen a Boskoop glory, Trompenberg, and a Oshio Beni for sale locally earlier this week. Those are all on that list. Another thing I should mention is the area can get pretty breezey. Are JMs pretty good at handling wind ?

They don't like cold wind-- but zone 6 should be okay.

Are you looking for an upright-growing tree, a weeping maple? Do you have a red or green preference?

I'm in 5b, with a microclimate (urban) that might put it in more of a 6a, and I've been surprised at how many of my cultivars do well with sun. One of my favorites is Moonrise, a yellow-green cultivar.

Looking for an upright tree type. No color preference. Gardengal did mention red leaves varieties tend to do better in full sun so probably go with a red leafed variety.

If you check out the article I linked to, almost all of the trees listed are red leaved. Not all........but nearly all :-))

The only one I have in any sun is a Bloodgood, and it does just fine. of course, we only have sun in July and August.
