No it isn't a Den spectabile, but a spectabile hybrid. Den Big Alex x Den Spectabile. It's a nice latouriate den.

It's 50% spectabile, 25% alexandrae and 25% bigibbum according to the register. But what's surprising is you can't really see any spectabile in it. The other two really dominate, or probably more particularly alexandrae.

Yes, I would say that the overall form is alexandrae, the color bigibbum, and the vein pattern from spectabile. It's a bit difficult to see in my photo, but the lip is a deep burgundy with veining that's close to spectabile.

I like the latouriates and this one provides some needed color variety. I believe H&R nursery is producing more colored latouriates lately... Perhaps it'll be more spectabile like in one of those iterations.
