Easy way to pot a dendrobium keiki

First step is to cut the entire cane keiki and all.

I found the right pot. The cane was too tall.

So I cut the bottom of the can so the keiki would be on top of the potting material.
Next I stripped all the leaves off the old cane. Not the keiki...

Then fill the pot in this case with lava rock
Done. The old cane in time will rot. But the old cane is a long term source of moisture and nutrition. Also, no need of a rhizome clip. Just takes a couple of minutes.
