Decorating Stairwell

Other than doing picture frames down the stairs, any ideas on how to decorate the huge wall in our kitchen?

Should we do something straight across or follow the stairs down? Would love to do a statement wall (like shiplap, molding or wallpaper), but the right side of the wall would be hard to do.
