How was cedar treated?

Do you know the stain you used? oil based? color if possible?
Daughter is building a similar house now and looking at different stains

    It was an oil based stain, but this was done over 12 years ago - I don't have the exact color information any more...

    Would you know what product you used (Siddkins, TWP, Cabot, etc)?

    Hi,

    You have answered questions regarding cedar tongue and groove siding and I appreciate it. Could you tell me if they used edge grained wood or was it cut regularly (not sure what that is called). A stain manufacturer from TWP said that our contractor should use edge grain because it stains more evenly. What do you recommend?

    Either do I but that's what the guy at TWP stain manuf. wrote. Did you use kiln dried cedar or green cedar?

    I think he meant clear vertical grain cedar
