That sounds lovely. Do you have a picture to date? A few ideas include continuing with calacatta marble either in slabs or subway. White subway tiles with a calacatta focal point above your range might be lovely too depending on your space. Or maybe a contrasting tile altogether with some marble in it.

Pictures are forthcoming. in the meantime, who makes that tile. I like it.

Counters are being fabricated. The main backsplash is a large format white porcelain tile 10 by 20, stacked and not staggered. I am looking for something with a little bling for the wall behind the range, commercial 6 burner stainless range with a hood with a chimney that goes to the ceiling.

The range will be placed where the cutout is in the picture above.

Thank-you for the great "during" pictures. Your kitchen reno looks fabulous. I love the uppers and windows as well as those gorgeous slabs. Just out of curiousity, what is your flooring?
I'm not sure who makes the tile. In Vancouver, it is available at Ames, Burnaby, BC.
I think it would be a great bling behind the range, either as a focal square centered, or from either side of the range all the way up. A "border" tile might be nice to separate it from the 10x20 stacked porcelain (nice choice again). You can view a larger image of this potential accent tile on my St. Andrews Project.
I can inquire at Ames tomorrow as to who "makes" the tile if you like.

This Ann Sacks mosaic would look gorgeous! It is the rockefeller circle medium mosaic in moonstone. Your counter tops are stunning BTW. Hope you'll post photos of the completed project.

Ed. That is a tough question. Is is totally an aesthetic thing. I think marble is elegant, can go from modern to traditional and everywhere in between. And it has a timeless quality to it. I don't see it going out of style in 10 years, as some granites have. No, it is not the most practical counter material. If I had kids, I would not be getting it. I'd be getting quartz. But for me, I can be a little more careful. And the white quartz" marble'esque "alternatives just don't look very good to me.
