Is there a Hollyhock thread anywhere? I am just starting my hollyhock garden from various seeds I have gleaned from neighbors. Some folks tell me these plants only live 2 years, produce only the 2nd year then die, etc. I of course have no idea what genus any of my seeds are but I wanted to start a discussion and hopefully learn all I can.

I would also love to start a seed exchange if anyone is interested. I'd very much like to get seeds to this variety of hollyhock plant if anyone has the seeds?

So my questions:

1. Do hollyhock plants only produce blossoms the 2nd year?

2. Do the plants have a life span?

3. Are there any known perennial varieties?

4. Anyone interested in a seed exchange?
