I have one of these and fiddled around with the placement for months. It seems that it is happy in indirect light or even shade. I put it in a spot that gets very little indirect light just temporarily, but when I realized it was fine, I left it. Only then did it put out a new leaf!

currently, it is living on my piano in the shade of a humongous monstera plant and gets indirect light. It seems happy there.

My guess is that these are tropical s that live in shade underneath plants....

oh, they are known to be slow growers too:)

I'm not clear if you mean the new leaves that were orange have faded, or brand new leaves are not starting with an orange color.

I should point out that when I had mine in full light, it didn't do well at all. However, that could have been because the desert sun is just too much for it. I do believe that these plants do not grow in full sun in their natural habitat. Please correct me if I am wrong....

Most people cannot provide enough light to even be comparative to shade in the wild. Since Prince of Orange is not completely green it needs more light than other philos that are.

I get enough light to burn cacti and hardy succulents in my southern window. Desert sun is otherworldly. Also, the sun is out for a long time.

So perhaps her lighting conditions will not be as harsh (though zones are similar). I just know that my own Prince of Orange did not do well in the "as much light as you can give it" light. The leaves are still orange, and it is in indirect light and shade.

In fact, shade here might be equivalent to sun in your zone. I can grow succulents in a northern window here.

The OP is in a zone similar to mine, so I would strongly recommend that she avoid putting it in full sunlight. At the very least, I would recommend that it be done very, very gradually.

There are very few plants that can withstand full sun in this zone. I've learned that if you want to put a tropical in full sun here, the best thing to do is do it when the plant is very young so that it will adapt and produce growth that is acclimated to the heat. This is why raising plants from cuttings and seeds in the desert is a very popular thing to do.

You can put a tropical plant in the southern window here, and when you come back three hours later, it will be collapsed and scorched.

Maria, wondering if brighter light fixed your issue? I've got the same issue with mine, dull red leaves that fade to brown. Ew. Haha. I'm thinking about getting rid of the poor little guy as I've tried so many things to make him orange.
