Vintage ceramic?

I was digging in the basement and found a box left by the PO that contained this "dish". I just took quick photos and stashed it again... it's not my kind of thing, but I actually LIKE this! It must weigh about 5 lbs!!! It's extremely heavy for how it appears. Est. 18" long, or so. I think I'll use it as a DR table centerpiece at xmas-time.... filled with *something*.

Any thoughts on it? I do think there is something incised in the base, but I couldn't see it well enough in the basement. I thought it was homemade (like from a ceramics class) until I felt how heavy it is. Need more photos?

Could easily see that filled w/ white frosted pinecones, shiny red ornaments & a few pine sprigs...

I found tons of them by searching for "holly leaf ceramic sleigh".

I think it's from a "ceramics studio"...one that makes slip ceramics and perhaps sells them to people who take a "class" in ceramics to decorate.

Its gaudy for my taste, and yet, . . . there's something very likeable about this piece.

Gaudy?? It's plain white with a touch of gold.
Not my cup of tea but gaudy it's not. I can see it as a decoration all b y itself.

Fresh greens at Christmas with couple of candles would look nice in it with couple of little pinecones .

I love it! I think it's beautiful, and this is one of favorite color combinations to use to decorate- off white and matte gold. Wish I could buy it from you!
