The sink almost disappears....

OK, Mister - I have blown this pic up 300%, and I will admit defeat. The sink DOES disappear - where IS it? :-)

is it over in the middle of that shelving area?

It appears to be centered on the counter run under the glossy black backsplash. Perhaps that's a Corian type counter material with an integrated sink. The black faucet surely disappears nicely. Oh, and only the fridge/freezer has hardware (other doors/drawers may be push-latch) Lovely kitchen!

Yes the sink is in the middle of the open area

    The faucet is even black

BTW, according to the flrplan, the dishwasher is to the left

I am increasingly drawn to spare, exacting spaces like this. I'm not certain I could actually live in a space like this and keep it so uncluttered, but I'd be willing to give it a go! It's refreshing in its simplicity, and of course, its simplicity looks very upscale which helps as an overall selling point!

I saw SOMETHING back there but wasn't sure that little bit I saw could be it, and it seemed an odd place to put it, IMO. It's not me, Jill, I need a certain degree of clutter and dog hair, of course! :-)

Owner wanted to be on record as being able to boil water or serve a cold glass of milk. But I doubt he/she have prepared a meal here evah! Ha

I love the design, but the kitchen itself is too small. It would work for a hotel room, but not for a residence IMO. Way too little counter space. I've worked in small kitchens like that and did not like it.

I could immediately see the faucet at the sink, but not the sink itself. It looks Italian - I might choose a different color than white.

It's big enough for that apartment...much bigger than the kitchen in my 2BR apartment and bigger than the current kitchen in my house. And I live with a former chef who sometimes does production baking.

I like clean-lined kitchens in open concept spaces. I'm so happy that my kitchen is a room in itself because mine would never be clutter-free.

That's a HUGE kitchen for a Manhattan apartment. I remember the kitchen in my apartment. It was 6 feet wide and maybe 10 feet long. That apartment is now selling for $1.2 million.

I measured my current kitchen, and as it turns out, it is almost exactly the same size as that one, but mine has a peninsula, which gives me more counter space. I think the kitchen size is not so much an issue as the lack of prep space. I agree that that kitchen is huge for a Manhattan apartment - all of my kitchens have been smaller until I moved into my current house.

Yeah, the counterspace is not where one would naturally prep. The sink is really only acting as a natural cleanup sink. The peninsula is outside where most people would habitually prep.

Per the notes, it is an integral Corian sink. It's 3.575M and 2160 square feet, so I think the kitchen is well-sized for a large Chelsea apartment. I think you'd prep on the peninsula. Interesting that the MB has Neolith wall panels, so it's a relatively recent renovation

" I'm not certain I could actually live in a space like this and keep it so uncluttered, but I'd be willing to give it a go!" IdaClaire, with push latch drawers, you just push and pitch! Easy peasy!

    I like it!

I think it's a very interesting kitchen. One doesn't usually see white, black and brown as a color scheme. I would not have imagined the patterned brown wall going with the black w/white wall. I like it! Not crazy about the infertility stools, they look ouchy.

Cooking in a small kitchen most of my life, I will say that you prep wherever there is a smidge of space.

That's like the stereotypical kitchen you see depicted in the movies for the cool, professional characters. In a chick flick, you wouldn't root for this guy or gal.
