Let it keep some fruit or no?

I'm six months new to citrus. Have a beautiful Kishu mandarin I received from Four Winds about 2 months ago. It's almost 3 feet tall and flowered shortly after I got it. I'm guessing it's about 1-2 years old. Now it's covered with tiny fruits. Do I let it keep some or remove all? I have a Meyer lemon that is about 1.5 years old. I kept about three fruits and it lost all leaves when the fruit was about golf ball size. May have been some other reason but wondered if related....thought when young it's best to let the plant concentrate on rooting?
