The kishu will most likely lose its fruitlets on its own. I would pull them if it doesn't to allow the tree to grow its roots and canopy first. Pull most of them next year as well. My four winds kishu is only about 18 inches tall and has a bunch of fruitlets on it but will probably lose most if not all. It is too tiny to be putting out much fruit. On the meyer, I doubt it was you leaving the 3 fruit on that caused the leaves to drop.

Several years back, research by Purdue University found that leaving one or two fruit on a small citrus tree does not reduce the tree's growth. A citrus fruit does not draw its nurtration from the entire tree, but only from the few leaves nearest to the fruit.

Well this brings a smile to my face. I guess I will try leaving a couple of fruits on the tree and see what happens. :)
