We used an off-white grout for both the Nublado marble tile and the glass tile. Mapei and Laticrete are two brands of grout that both have a range of white and off-white grout colors to choose from. Since Nublado marble is a natural material and can have some color variation from lot to lot, we always recommend selecting the grout with the actual tile used on the project. The tile on the floor of the shower is a 12x24 tile Nublado marble tile, the same as the flooring throughout the bathroom. Good luck with your project!

have you had any problems with using glass tile in a shower/bath on an outside wall. My contractor does not want to use my glass tile because he says it will expand and contract and I will have problems with leaking.

Hi Barbara, This is a valid concern from your contractor. There are various methods of insulation that could help with an exterior wall situation. One resource for your contractor is the Tile Council of North America and they publish construction guidelines every year. Additionally, all glass tile should be installed with an anti-crack membrane to help prevent cracking. Thanks for the question and good luck with your project.

I was thinking of using carrera Marble mosaic tile on the outside wall and glass on the facing walls in the shower/tub area.. this way the glass will be on inside walls..less temperature change. Based on the shape of my bathroom- how far would you go up the walls? looking into the bathroom - the left wall is about 5 ' and the right is about 8.

We love when tiles can go full height on the wall (all the way to the ceiling). However, we often see tile stop short of the ceiling to save money on a project or for aesthetic and design reasons. Without knowing more about your project it is tough for us to make a recommendation. It just depends on the style and look you are going for. In the example image above the tiles go all the way to the ceiling, so if you are looking to replicate the bathroom above, then go floor to ceiling if you can. Good luck!
