Gotta love those yard explorers. Does Alfie get to do anything fun with it? Bet the grandkids will be bummed to learn they left that one in the field.

Good Alfie!!! My dogs usually find dead bugs and twigs. Alfie is definitely more excellent!

Lucile, Alfie happily finds those things too and brings them up on the patio ... LOL The occasional bird feather is a favorite.

Bostedo, he took the egg apart without breaking it, and thankfully he did not chew up the twenty! I think he at least deserves a new dog toy and some fresh bones, don't you?

He's such a smart little dog. As I've said before all dogs will show how smart they are if you take the time to work with them. Actually he's the first dog I've taken as much time to work with and it comes in handy.

Once I dropped one of those three sided paper clips while at my desk. I was stretching to try and pick it up. Bob said, "If your dog is so smart why don't you tell him to get it for you."

So I pointed to it and said, "Alfie bring it to me." And he did! (We showed daddy, didn't we Alfie ... hahaha)

Now whenever something is in an out of the way place that I can't reach I point to it and ask Alfie to get it for me and he does.

Clearly a genius in choosing such gracious caretakers. A new dog toy and some fresh bones sound like a wonderful "finder's fee". :-)

We cannot figure out where he could have found that egg. I used to hide the one dollar eggs, but Bob would hide the higher denominations and make a note on exactly where so they would not be overlooked. We don't recall missing a twenty. Through the years a one dollar egg occasionally turned up and the dollar bill inside is all moldy and full of holes. But this egg remained hidden and the twenty is pristine through years of floods, hail storms, high winds, and heat waves.

Egg, blue fake grass, and twenty dollar bill were all laid out very neatly on the lawn where I had gone by a few minutes before. If only Alfie could talk!

Are you sure Bob didn't play an April Fools joke on you? That $20 bill has a 2013 date on it, so it's not that old ;-)

Wow Brian-- the bill is a series 2013. What the heck is going on? We cleaned out the store room and threw away all the plastic eggs and Easter baskets several years ago. This is not Bob's kind of joke. The plot thickens!

Idea: a bunch of the neighbors joined in having a kid's Easter egg hunt in the greenbelt yesterday. Alfie didn't attend, but could it have come from there? How did it get in our yard?

Omar! Are you sure? The criminal always returns to the scene of the crime even if by internet ... lol.

Would the neighbors have put $20 bills in an egg for children?? The plot does, indeed, thicken. Don't want to miss out on the outcome of this one.

Another idea: Our next door neighbors, Carolyn and James, did attend the hunt in the greenbelt. They have also attended most of our family events, including Easter, for the 17 years they've lived here. James is always trying to sneak me money for the yard stuff I do over there and I sneak it back. It's like a cat and mouse game. But this time I think I smell a rat and its name is James ... LOL!!!!! I'm going to have to have a talk with that man!
