Kitchen LED lighting problem

last modified: 9 years ago

I wanted a bright kitchen (spent last 35 years with a single 4' fluorescent fixture!!)

Thought I would get it with the 6 recessed retrofit led lights in bright white 5000K (also since we are getting cream colored cabinets I did not want them to look yellow ( I saw the 5000K bulbs suggested to solve that problem in houzz advice). This is what I went with: https://www.amazon.com/Dimmable-Downlight-Replacement-Daylight-Lighting/dp/B00WHSW84O/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_i

However the field of light seems small. The kitchen does not look as bright as I expected and it appears I will not need the dimmers I got since I need these on full brightness.

I will also have a 2 light pendant over the island (not installed yet - nor are the cabinets - they go in on Friday!). I opted out of under cabinet lighting.

My electrician recommenced I return these and get something with a less deep baffle (bulb closer to flush). Will that do the trick?
