Hi Francesco, these are all looking really great - so cute at this stage. Sometimes I think it would be good if they could stay this size. It's like looking at puppies & kittens. Ahhh :)

Thank U Rachel. ;-) That would be nice if they would stay this size. But I cant complain. Here in my climate they grow really snow except during summer. Last year I could literally watch them grow.

Today I'm going to show you my 1 year old plants from mixed seeds:

I really like how that one developed. The caudex is growing nicely, its slowly branching out but the thing I really like are the leaves...

That one was already in flower after just 7 months:

My big large leaved plant which should also have a nice root system:

That one has lots of branches...

The pots look bad I know, but they grew so big and fast last year, that I wanted to buy nice bonsai-pots when they slowed down a bit.

Hi Francesco, these are also looking really good. You've got some nice branching on that last one. Were you're mixed seed from Ko as well, and do you know what your mixed seed are? Eg: mixed doubles, mixed yellows or reds etc? Rachel :)

Unfortunately I don't know now, what they are. I bought them from a seller from England on ebay. It was before I found that forum and learned about Mr. KO or Orient Adenium. The germination rate was poor so I don't know how fresh and serious that seller was, but im happy whit how my plants developed. Cant wait to put them outside for the summer season in a month to see them grow fast again. :-)

Hi Francesco, don't worry, many of us have bought seed from other suppliers before finding this forum, me included. You have raised some very healthy looking seedlings & probably had a lot of fun growing them. Best wishes for lovely blooms for all your adeniums this year. :)

I indeed hat a lot of fun to grow them and will still have. This weekend I will might prune that one, as I hope it will finally grow more compact as right now...

Also I hope tho end up with some big, stunning looking plants like yours. I really enjoyed to follow your treat and hope for some new pics soon. Also I wish you the same.

Your method sounds very interesting to me. I was already thinking how I will have to continue after I have done the first pruning. I already had a bonsai but I feared to prune it and when I finally have done it, I could not stop to cut away the branches I don't liked. After my pruning it looked much better, but it is different with my seedlings as I like them how they are. However, I prefer more bonsai looking adeniums like the ones from Gill. There are a lot more but I can't think of the names right now.

Your seedling looks much better now. I also like how it was before (obviously) but withe the new growth and the fattened caudex...amazing! Overall it looks very healthy. I hope mine will do the same. :-)

The only thing im concerned with is could it be, that the new branches could be thin and weak, so they will not really fatten up?

Thank you also for the good pruning instruction. I already read how to do it as Maria Elena, Martin and a lot of the others mentioned it in other treads but it is always good to read it again before doing it. The only thing I need, is a sharp blade. xD

Hi Francesco, I have an idea of how I want my seedling to grow in shape, but that will all depend on whether it branches where I want it to. It's always good to have an idea of what you want your plant to look like, before you do your first prune. Your seedling above looks like it has a lot of leaf nodes to choose from, for pruning - to give you more branches where you want. Most times pruning the top off the main leader, encourages more branches below this to develop. New branches on seedlings usually do well in regards to thickening, but some of it is genetics as well. Good luck & don't be afraid to prune. :)

My twin runt finally started to grow again after a rest of 9 month!!! But still, I like that very special pant!

Hi Francesco, you are doing a good job on your D/R about the runt i love them in my view they make top bonsai plants because of the size i have a soft spot for the runts the leaves stay little this is one out of many i am working on

Lol its going to be funny when his willy will get bigger than his body smart plant knows where to put all the energy haha

You are right! I also like the smaller leaves they have.

One of my seed grown plant which is half a runt and half normal ;-) is also branching out like crazy. I never pruned it cause I like what it is doing. After 1 year and 2 Month it is already looking like a little tree. Thats the way I like it!
