Two similar roses

Golden Masterpiece has a kind of sweet anise smell.

In this climate the blooms don't last very long, they dry out, but there's so much sun all it takes is another watering for another flush of blooms, and they come fast. I mean they can go from tiny bud to full bloom within just two or three days.

I just Saw Oregold at Lows and was soooo tempted! Hughes butter yellow blooms! Walking out into the nursery was like walking out into summer with all the blooming roses..... I mean mine have barely leafed out....not a bud in sight.

Lol I tried... but like you mentioned Carol the sunny blooms drew me in! It's been so soggy wet with record breaking rainfall and cool temps. It's so grey here, I'm starved for sun and warmth.

Yes, so true!

I remember when I lived in Fort McMurray (zone 2) we had a really low cloud ceiling for the entire winter and lows of (-50 C for 3 weeks at a time). My daughter said when we went to Edmonton to visit relatives - she was 3 and quite precocious said, "Something's strange here, Mommy. It's winter and I can see the sky." I'll never forget that.
