Where is everyone?

Shades, are you okay? Is your neck going to need more medical attention?

Everyone else? Hot Sauce?

I'm dying for company and entertainment? LOL Who's doing what?

I have gotten 14 of the 15 Purple Martin gourds hung and ready for the PMs' return. The last one has to have a new owl/hawk resistant entry tunnel caulked in. I'll get it hung tomorrow.

April 15 is my drop dead date to have all the gourds hung with the cedar shavings pre-nests in place. They Martins usually comes zooming in around April 23. They have shown up as early as the 14th, and as late as May 7.

I have to trudge to town this afternoon to do returns and get some new, larger :( jeans.

Dug out dandelions yesterday. Still digging out dandelions today. Maybe I should learn to love them instead. :)

Thanks for asking Caroline. I am doing fine and back to my usual crazy stuff. I do have to go back to the chiropractor tomorrow. I am hoping I can get everything heavy done today so after tomorrows adjustment I can take it easy for a few days. I am doing really well though. Black eye is now shades of yellow and kind of a green. Scab on cheek is going to take awhile to clear up. It is pretty thick and I do not want a scar so will just leave it alone with a little cream on it.

I have worked in the yard some and the garage a lot. Purging and passing on some mosaic things I will not be using to another gal. It turned out to be 6 small boxes worth. Have to use small boxes or it gets too heavy to lift. Happy to see it go away and to good use.

I have also almost finished the bathroom cabinet side. I am guessing less than a quarter left to fill in. Then I have to install it. That part is always scary for me when it is a big piece I cut to smaller sections so I can handle them. Always worry it might not go back the way it was and once it is slimy with glue. Wel it can become a real mess.

Weather is good here. Time for me to get to work.

I met my sister yesterday to get our toes done. I can't twist my body anymore to get a good aim at 'em. And when they're painted I can't tell as easily how fast the nails have grown. the girl there just couldn't believe how long they were. Mine grow fast - so do my fingernails - and my hair.! Guess I'll have to go there every 2 months or so whether I think it's time or not... We had a good time. her dh drove her and then ran errands while we were in there.

Then we went across the road to have dinner. Nice new place (to me; they've eaten there a number of times). I got an Italian sandwich w/ side of pasta salad. It was getting late so I had to watch so it didn't get too dark for me. by the time I ate my pasta salad I decided I'd better leave, so got the sandwich to go. I should have left there 20-30 minutes sooner. was getter darker than I like out there to be driving. but I've got food for about 2 days from it. had a small corner of it after I got home and it was very good.

i'm going to go down to W shortly to get the dog some cookies. ran out earlier. i'm out of the small ones that she gets after going outside to do her business... I could probably use some cookies too - will get mine from the subway counter - they usually have raspberry cookies there.

went to my 3rd eye doctor on Friday. He showed me my eyeballs on the computer screen... the right looked like a blood moon. The left - total white 'full moon'. He said that the cataract causes the light to scatter and all it shows is white. he also told me that my iris is stuck to my pupil. Oh dear. that sounds messy... He told me that with the new technology in glasses, some people can adjust for a cataract with those glasses instead of surgery. But I wasn't one of those people... darn! I see the surgeon this Wednesday, so will ask him about the iris/pupil mess. Neither the retinal doc nor the surgeon mentioned that to me.

glad you are doing ok Shades. you're lucky you aren't sore everywhere!

I had a lazy weekend. It was cold and rainy and turned to snow saturday night. My shoulder has been really hurting so I decided to try giving it a complete rest for the weekend, along with anti-inflammatories and that seemed to help. I hope the work week won't set it back again.

I mostly read and did a very little bit of knitting. I went to potluck.

Razzbury caught a mouse at 1:30 this morning. That got Ben, the dog upset, he was jumping on and off the bed, circling the cat and his plaything. I got up and disposed of the mouse which made the dog happy, but not the cat. I made a lot of the cat for being a good mouser and gave him a treat. The mouse was very small, which means there are more of them. I'll have to move the wine rack where Razz was staring last evening to give him better access to them.

It is supposed to get warm again this week and I can get back out in the garden. I have more peas to plant and I need to get the beds ready for onions and potatoes and etc.

This morning I spent hours pulling Garlic Mustard weed in the my orchard. Of course on the neighbor's side of the fence the whole area is full of it. So my efforts won't mean much next year as seeds from their patch will surely blow onto my property. Oh well, at least it will look better this summer. After that, I got all the table and chair sets out of the storage barn and set them about in their proper places for the season. Also, the garden urns. Finally put the cart away and came in for tea at 1:30p! I was SO tired. And my face got sun burned. Very red below my eyes.

Right after I finished tea and began to relax on the sofa in the library, here comes the electric guy to connect my air conditioning unit. It was installed, along with the new furnace, in October but not wired. So as of 2:30p today, I have air conditioning for the first time ever! I'm ready for the 85 degree weather this summer.

Had a salad for supper awhile ago. Gonna sleep good tonight.

Lettuce was $1.49 today! I didn't buy it. I did buy some red potatoes instead for potato salad. Rhubarb is up.

I finished cleaning the winter barn yesterday. I do 1/2 an hour twice a day while the old horse eats. Doesn't take long. Picked up sticks for an hour and I was sweating. I have to get enough wood to make a funeral pier for the wildlife that I've trapped. Got another skunk on Thursday or Friday. And as I was hugging the old horse went sniff, sniff, hmmmm. Where were you when the skunk sprayed? Not real strong so he must not have been real close.

I'm here, and will be, off and on, most of the day.

I am finishing a pot of chicken and vegetable soup I started "brewing" yesterday. The doc put DH on a very low carb "eat nothing white" type diet. He is a voracious eater and I see this getting ugly if he tries to go cold turkey.

I had half of a left-over roasted chicken with a couple roasted onions. I added chopped carrots, green peas, and celery. I do have a bowl of parsleys rice to encourage him to have maybe 1/4 to 1/2 cup to his soup.

Caroline you might find seriously reducing the carbs will actually calm hubbys hunger. It is how I lost the 90 pounds. Carbs are addictive. Feed him steaks.

Well I was gone a good part of the day yesterday then exhausted when I got home. I am getting worse and worse about leaving the house. I did get a lot of chores done and totally stocking up for winter on the kitty litter and dry food. That worked well for me last year. Especially when I spent o much time snowed in.

Today I have been out in the yard deadheading anything and everything and weeded the little checker board patio. It had a good soaking a couple of days ago so the weeds were easy to pull. There are not that many. most rogue hollyhocks. LOL

I also watered across the front of the house and now working on the court yard area. Then I will have been all the way around the yard. We are having dry lightening and I certainly do not want any more fire risk that there is. Surprised the dog is laying here calm. I have my music on so he might not have heard the lightening. I was out side when it started but finished up for now.

I do not know if I wrote about another re-arrange I did by selling one small piece of furniture it totally opened up a few areas in this house. Hoping my dresser will also go away. I would like to bring Joe out of the closet. HA

I went to work for several hours. Now I'll go home and do a little house cleaning. Practice my banjo. Did I mention I'm taking lessons? I learned bluegrass style 40 years ago, but always wanted to learn clawhammer, so after nearly 30 years of not playing the banjo I'm learning the new style.

It's too hot for me to have much interest in the garden these days. It gets water, and I pick a thing now and then, but it's pretty much on its own until the weather breaks and/or I'm done with the outdoor stuff in the heat of the day at work.

Dinner and a play with friends tonight. More work tomorrow.

Stopping by to say hello! Had a quiet day today. Did things around the house, walked the dog and just relaxed.
