Purchase from NSE Tropicals

These just arrived yesterday and I'm very impressed! This is the first time I've purchased from her and the plants look wonderful. She received my order in the morning and the plants were in the mail by lunchtime. I can promise this won't be my last order!

great buy! they have a very nice selection too. i'll keep them in mind for the future. thanks for posting!

oh, and i have a "Painted Lady" too, it's still quite small and only one stem with 8 leaves. Do you have 2 in the pot?

Nope, just one plant in each pot.

they look very well grown - very short distances between leaf petioles and the leaves are nice and vertical. too often in lower light indoors in the room they will start drooping sideways and getting leggy.

i' m keeping mine in dappled bright and very warm western light, but it's ion the middle shelf standing sideways to the window and there are other plants in front, so it's may be 2-3 feet away from glass. it's already getting over 77F in the room - so the water consumption is up!

My new leaves are not as yellow as they should be, so i am thinking may be i need to move it even closer to the window.

where are you going to put yours?

Very pretty philos from NSE! You'll especially love Pink Princess, each new leaf can be surprising with a pink, cream or white jolt of color. I have a large number of these philos from various sources, plants from a Hawaii source have far less color than the others. My best-colored propagations are from a plant originally from my friend Shanika P. many years ago. Wondering if she's still out there.

The most colorful plants of Pink Princess I've ever seen were at the now-defunct nursery Alberts and Merkel in Boynton Beach Fla years ago. The great aroider Jean Merkel had recently passed away and the nursery was going out of business. There were a dozen or so gorgeous large plants of Pink Princess on a bench, big splashes of pink on almost every leaf. Unfortunately there was a big 'Sold' sign on the bench, probably bought by a single buyer. I've wondered if they were so full of pink color because they were big plants, so I've put a bunch of mine in 3-gallon pots to see if more root-run and size has any effect on color.

Anyway, congrats on the new philos!
