I really appreciate the comments on the cats and the rose. It really isn't easy making a choice when emotions are involved with both. Thanks to summersrhythm's buckets of cold water logic on me. Because I live in a climate where the weather is often cold, the Rex has to be an indoor cat. Also because it doesn't have an undercoat like most cats, it has to be in warmth all the time. Really not the type of cat for a gardener. And now back to planting the roses I got from Hortico. Just had to have more of their Austins.

I understand. I have a cat and they require a lot of maintenance.

Well boo! Those kitties are so stinking cute. Do you have Lowes near you bc Austins are showing up there. Good luck picking out your new English roses!! Always fun!!!

A lovely list! I hope THE ALBRIGHTON RAMBLER blooms more in your garden, it's a slow repeater here, but the blooms are beautiful (2 yrs old). MALVERN HILLS is a blooming machine here (2yrs old). HEATHCLIFF stays small(2 yrs old), not much repeating here, but the blooms are wonderful. I made a mistake with TRANQUILITY, I ordered 9 when Wayside Gardens had their the end of summer sale for less than $9 each. I planted them as foot covers for 9 Polar Joy rose trees, and they turned out to be tree eaters. I cut them back last fall, I could use them as rose tree trunk covers this year, that can be unique. lol

I will give ramblers and climbers more fertilizer boost this year, that might be the key for more repeats......
