Red vs. Pink Grapefruits

Okay, I need a Citrus Expert LOL. (I'll try to keep this short)
I do most of the Grocery Shopping in our home. My wife asked to pick up Pink Grapefruits. I brought home, what I believed to be Pink Grapefruits, but they were actually Red Grapefruits. Supposedly there is a difference in the taste, however it seems like everywhere I go carries only Red Grapefruits.
Does anyone know the actual difference between a Pink and Red Grapefruit and where I can get the Pink Grapefruit. I tried looking it up and it seems I can't really find a straight answer.
I believe my wife enjoyed the Pinks ones b/c they were sweeter.

Pink is supposed to be milder in aroma and flavor (less pungent), and sweeter smelling I believe.

That's what I believe as well. Just cannot find them anywhere!

Grapefruit is the state fruit of Texas... I'd love to see a Texan take on this!

I do not taste much difference.. that is, color is not an indicator of sweetness, but the reds/pinks develop the color as they approach ripeness. A grower will harvest as early as possible to get the product to market... and that may not be at its peak sweetness (the color can develop before the sugar/brix level).

I am growing Redblush, Flame, Rio Red and each cultivar will ripen at different times... but I do not taste an ultimate peak sweetness difference between them - yet. I added "yet" because they just started producing the last couple of years so still settling down into their rhythm.
