Is says this rug is the insert? Does it go inside a frame? I've seen rubber frames for mats before.

The insert is the piece of rope that runs north to south and holds the mat together. It can be the same color as the mat or an contrasting color. It is inserted into the mat after it is made that is why I call it an insert. Thanks for asking.
