Lilyfinch, I agree wholeheartedly! I'm just starting to appreciate the deeper colors, and this rose is one reason why. I bought it because I wanted something to fill in a spot quickly, and it did. I went back and bought another one. Even though it's a bright saturated pink, it isn't garish or jarring. It blends well with softer colors. I've never seen a rose take off as quickly and as shapely as this one. Yes, long, arching canes, but on this rose, they look right and drape perfectly. I thought mine was fabulous, but yours is even better. Absolutely beautiful surrounding your birdbath.

Flowersaremusic , you are absolutely correct that the color is not jarring at all . I wish this rose was available in more colors as well ! Haha I'm glad you love it too . I feel like my pictures just don't do it justice.

I'm in the process of pruning, and have not gotten to my Flamenco Rositas yet. There won't be much left, but they'll come back. I don't think I've seen this rose mentioned in the forums until now. You are right, everyone should grow it.

Lily, thank you for suggesting Flamingo Rosita a few months back. It isn't as huge as yours but it has been constantlt blooming. It started out pink and had progressively gotten more hot pink. It seems to grow out as opposed to up. Trouble free and a great pop of color.

Kristine I am so glad you are enjoying it ! Mine just keeps on trucking . It actually is getting in the way of lady of shallot so I need to move that one . In my opinion it's better than any knockout and useful in so many places.

I also grow FR. Mine is in south facing filtered shade. Planted last year as an own root band. Not as big as yours but filling out well with 4 new canes from the recent rain. Completely healthy in my humid no spray garden. Less buds than yours but still blooms in my filtered shade.

I was worried about my location even though it's about A 6 or 7 foot square area, prime location, it doesn't really get sun until 11 and then it gets Sun until the sun goes down. So I was worried that it wouldn't get enough Morning Sun and too much afternoon but it's thriving. It is covered in blooms. Such a great rose

Also its an English rose so we probably get more sun in zone 7 USA than it is used too

Mine sent out long canes that I wove through the trellis. It has been slow to start this year but today I noticed that is got tons of new growth so it's taking off.

I usually don't prune hard if at all, but this year I gave my less vigorous Flamenco Rosita a hard pruning, and will lightly prune the healthier one. They're both in the same conditions and from the same nursery, but the healthier, more productive one is a year younger. Go figure!

Maybe, I shouldn't have pruned it back quite so much next year I'll try leaving it longer.

Well I'll be darned! I love her! I might have to look into inquiring her!

I pruned mine for the first time this year and now its covered in buds

Mine is finally making a comeback after a hard prune looking very leggy again it goes right to the trellis which is a cool thing.
