Amaryllis/Hippeastrum

New Vera

My new Vera graced me with her presence yesterday. The color didn't come through on the picture very well inside the house. Her scape is quite a bit shorter than my other amaryllis. My Orange Sovereign behind is over 2ft tall. Is this a normal height for Vera? I'm looking to self her and get lots of seeds.

I grew Vera many years ago in a barrel and I just dug out one picture that shows the stems. It appears that mine too had short stocky stems, for me a good trait!! Good luck with your pollinations!!

That is a very pretty spread. Your colors are very bright and rich. Im hoping next year after being in the ground mine will be as bright.
