Use "Osmocote Plus" only. Do not use Osmocote. it lacks the necessary minerals citrus need. If you can't get the plus version then use foliage pro only and use it 2 weeks after planting your tee so it can settle in first. add 1 tablespoon of sugar to each gallon of watter to water your tree in after you plant it.

Steve: I wonder what good does the sugar do? Never heard of such a thing.

sugar is already prepared food for the roots to use immediately.

Make sure you put the tree in a shady spot for the first week then to a half sun for a week then full sun.

Sounds like a good way to attract ants to me.

In my experience, you will have ants climbing the tree almost immediately. Tanglefoot will help organically, or a good insecticide.

Skip the sugar and the insecticide and Tanglefoot.

Put the osmocote on right away, then start foliage pro. water once a week , 2 tbs per gallon. How big is your tree going to be? Just pour water until you can see it start coming out of the bottom. Thats what I would do. Depending on your potting mix you will have to watch to see how often it needs water. Push your finger in to feel for moisture. With summer coming you will have to watch and make sure that the soil doesnt get to dry.
