I love that dark purple/pink carnosa! I also wish I had a lacunosa that size and in bloom (I miss the fragrance).

Congrats on the Pink Silver, Lydia. Mine has a lot of vines on it, so maybe it'll put out a bloom or two this summer.

Thank you for the compliments on Splash and Lacunosa. Super Splash is courtesy of Susan Swartsfager last year and it's just taken off. I bought three 3" pots and combined them in one big 8" square pot and they love it :)

Lacunosa was a gift to my mother, who passed it down to me as a gift too. It's very old.

Lydia! My Pubicalyx peduncles did not produce at all for me this year (yet) so I am jealous! And I'm pretty sure Susan has a dark pink Carnosa listed on eBay currently :)

Okay, I'm sure you all saw the add on eBay for this Carnosa from Susan. It is TOO adorable! Little pink centers <3 I couldn't resist, it's different and I'm a sucker for unique.

I saw those and was tempted. I have spent so much on Hoyas that I need to be a little selective now. Soooo, I selected "David's green cup" lol it's gorgeous!! Just got it today!

I really liked that white flowered one, klnco!

Is your AH order doing well? It can take a couple of months for them to actually start wanting to grow again.

They are doing pretty well :) Big hoyas I was surprised by how large they are! Cilata, Mindorensis Light Yellow, and Pink Dragon are great 90% of leaves are nice and firm again. Both erythrostemmas took it pretty hard a lot of stem die back and marginal leaf loss, but the nice majority of leaves that are left have firmed up nicely.

Mindorensis PG-13 has very soft leaves, they haven't wrinkled at all but just soft. I'm keeping a very close eye on it. Any suggestions on bringing back it's vigor?

PG-12 has naturally soft leaves, but the should be turgid, and not limp, like mindorensis. You may need to take cuttings. Try plopping it in a humidity dome, first.

Did that piece of Pink Dragon with the peduncle root? Crossing my fingers for you, on that! It has a lovely pubicalyx scent, but the fragrance is milder, and has a hint of...hyacinth(?) or something pleasing, that I don't detect on my "standard" pubicalyxes/ pub. cvs.

Yeah, mindo and erythrostemma are divas, when it comes to being shipped. Interestingly enough, their very close cousin, rintzii, travels quite well.

Okay I'll put it in a dome today. I definitely do not want to lose that one :(

Unfortunately, when I unboxed upon arrival the broken pieces you'd put together for me - the peduncle had totally rejected during transit, & fallen off the cutting. A big bummer there. But there will be more!

Mindorensis lite yellow had several peduncles budding on it in the photos AH sent but when I got it and laid it out, inspected it, there was only one left. Guessing a couple of those broke away during transit also.

It's okay though, I have faith all of these plants will make it through. I'm sure I won't see much new growth, if any at all, until next season.

Going from Thailand to Washington to Colorado was about as stressful for them as I had imagined. But its up and up from here, I hope :)

It took almost 3 months for 7 very haggard looking erythrostemmas, in one of my orders, to start looking good. Every peduncle was lost, the leaves were very wrinkled (some even developed fungus), and the plants just looked so sad.

I treated with removal of the worst leaves and a heavy application of cinnamon paste to the rest of the plants. I waited for it to do it's job (2 days), then I put all the sad plants into my rubbermaid "dome" (this was a pre-grow tent order). They spent a month in the "dome", where the leaves finally plumped up.

Then, they started re-growing. After setting 5 or six new leaves, peduncles came on a few of the plants! Still waiting on 4 of the 7 to put out new peduncles, which I am sure they will do in time!

Crossing my fingers that yours recover fully, and soon!

Yeah, they just need a little tlc, time and supervision :)

One leaf is looking wrinkled and has a dark spot. Is that mold?

I'd put cinnamon on it, just in case. Mix roughly a teaspoon of cinnamon with a few drops of water, until it reaches a paste-like consistency, rub on front and back sides of affected leaves. Leave on for 24-48 hours.

The treatment may discolor the spot on the leaf, turning it from that brown color, to yellow. This is normal. Sometimes, if the fungus is quite deep in the leaf tissues, the treatment weill make a hole in the leaf. You can remove the leaf, if the discoloration or hole bugs you.

PG 12 is doing better. The cinnamon has really helped.

Dee, you don't if you order 12 or less. Import permits are free, though. Just be sure to let AH know that you need bare-root plants. (Florida USDA is being a PITA to plant hobbyists, right now).

Cinnamomifolia has opened!

This plant was the first picture of a Hoya I ever saw. And I finally brought one to bloom <3 One month almost to the day that I noticed the peduncle had buds. It's been 2 months since I first noticed the peduncle was forming, I merely thought it new growth.

I love how Hoya Elmerii looks like tiny red tallons grasping the little white inner star. Stunning stunning stunning!

I could not believe how GREEN cinnamomifolia's flowers were until mine bloomed for me! Always though pictures of it HAD to be photoshopped!

Elmerii is one that I have yet to get (although I probably should...I have almost every other mindorensis, lol). The blooms are gorgeous! You should try crossing elmerii with cinnamomifolia, lol! Find you some ants or a bee or a crawling bug and force it to do the dirty work for you!

I would absolutely love to cross the two!!! Maybe I can review some of your pollination posts and figure it out myself:) Mindorensis and Cinnamomifolia have never been crossed before by Mike or anyone???

No crosses that I know of! I think he crossed a cinnamomifolia var. purpureofusca with a mindorensis....I'll check!
