Big box store bearded irises

Hi there. I'm a newbie to bearded irises. I bought some Iris bulbs from Home Depot. The package says to plant them after all danger of frost. The problem is, they are starting to dry out. The tips are still green, and I want to plant them. I don't think we will see any more freezes. Can I safely plant these? I'm zone 6a near Buffalo, NY. Thanks.

Yes, you can plant them now. Actually, any time your soil is workable. There is NO need to wait until after the last frost date - these are very hardy perennials and not affected by frost at all. That caveat is only applicable to annuals and other very cold sensitive plants.

Thank you. I thought that was the case, but i recieved differing opinions. I will plant them tomorrow then.
