Any experience with Hartlage -vs- Aphrodite Sweetshrub

My original landscape plans called for 8 Hartlage Sweetshrubs but the landscaper was not able to source them so we switched to Aphrodite because they had ready access to the Aphrodite shrubs.

Looking on line they look nearly identical. Has anyone planted both or have any comments good or bad about either cultivar?

Hartage, hydrid, non aromatic, faster growing than species. While i'm a fan of calycanthus in general, if you have a choice, go with fragrance.

Compared to the American species 'Hartlage Wine' has a bigger flower and leaves, with a white center.

Both are hybrids but with different parentage. 'Hartlage Wine' is a cross between C. floridus and C. chinensis; 'Aphrodite' is a cross between C. chinensis and C. occidentalis. Plant, flowers and coloring of both are very similar but one has fragrance and the other not. Otherwise, they are by all appearances interchangeable in the landscape.
