White vs Black Full-frame Replacement Windows

We live in a 1912 house with 1980's sash kit windows and storms. We've decided to install full-frame replacements and are trying to choose between 2-over-1 black or 1-over-1 white. I actually think black sashes look a little better when the trim is
white, but the the house is grey or a color other than white. However, we don't plan on re-painting the house any time soon. Part of the color decision has
to do with the structure of the new windows we've seen. We cannot find
replacements that have only black sashes. We're considering the Anderson Woodwright 400 Tilt-Wash, but we
do not like black sills and channels. It makes the window too
heavy-looking, in our opinion. Are there other brands we should consider
that offer black sashes only? If not, is it possible to paint just the
sashes black. What kind of paint? We are leery of painting vinyl. Is it
possible? Any suggestions appreciated.
