Trying to care for a rosebush...

Hey! I am attempting to care for 4 rosebushes I've inherited when I moved into my home last year. I have no experience with gardening other than the usual variety from Lowe's that u plant in the front yard. These bushes were already at the home & last year they bloomed all summer, however the green foliage never looked healthy & was always ate up w/holes, or ate up AND had some white spots. I want to know what this could be and the best way to fix it...

Robyn, I don't know if you already did this, but you might have better luck posting on the rose forum? Where in the OV do you live? It sounds like you have sawfly damage on your leaves. Harmless, in general, but unattractive. If you don't have many roses you could hand pick them from the bottom of the leaves. Can your post pics of your roses there, so folks know what they're dealing with, also.
