Multi blue ? It's beautiful !

Not multi. That was just the way the cloudy light hit the petals. I'd say it is more purple. Can't find a picture with a center like that.

Multiblue *is* purple. That's what your clem is. From a commercial site:

oh, sorry. I thought it was being mistaken for a multi blue color. Duh. Not real familiar with Clematis names yet. Getting there. It doesn't have a distinct marking like the one above.

A third vote for Multiblue. Look at a bunch of photos, less for the color (which as amazindirt said is almost impossible to photograph consistently since a single plant can vary so much depending on when the photo is taken) and more for the petal shape and the look of the central pom-pom. It's a fairly distinct cultivar. The appearance of varicolored petals on yours and on the posted image are just the way the light is hitting the petals, not a color variation.

And a fourth vote for multi blue.

It is crazy how the colors change on clems ! And the sun or shade can affect it . I just saw Josephine at lowes today and it was pretty but pale . Later today I saw a friend post hers on Instagram and it looked like a completely different clematis !
