It definitely needs to be lowered

To my eye, the height isn't bad given the room height (looks like it might be 7'--6" to 8') and the height of people's eyes when they stand up at the table. The fixture size/style is a bit "strong" for the modest table and chairs, but you obviously like it.

What is probably not so hot in the photo is the brightness of the fixture relative to the surrounding room area. This may simply be because your camera's auto focus and exposure setting was mainly influenced by the brightness of the light source in the view. If this was not the case, you might find installing a dimmer control will give you a range of lighting intensity that might be appealing in different dining situations.

I'd go lower. Its bottom should be about 30" above table surface. Can hang higher if ceiling height is more than 9 ft or so.

The table is actually very bulky but the photo distorts it.
I do think I need to add an additional leaf.
I'll add a better photo of table tomorrow after putting leaf in- it has the big " elephant " legs.
I do wish the chandelier was smaller.
My camera distorted brightness but definitely needs dimmer , and lower watt bulbs.

I do like the chandelier but it looks much bigger than I expected.
