It's difficult to answer your question from your description and the photo. Can you post more photos? What is in the adjoining areas? How large is the room overall? Can you post a floor plan?

Leave 24-36" by the window and 24" if you want someone to sit on the end where the doorway is located. That leaves you 62-74" for a dining table which will fit 6 people no problem. If you want to extend it, pay attention to the placement of the legs and where people will sit in relation to them. Best of luck! :)

That's a good point, Irene. If you are circulating behind the person sitting at the window, you would need another 6" more inches. I was assuming that that wouldn't be the case. You can tape the dimensions on the floor to see what feels good to you.
