I have a Clematis Danielle that is doing very well, which is astonishing, because normally clematis just look at me and fall over dead. However, I didn't realize when I planted it that it blooms in the early summer with a lighter bloom in the fall. I wanted June-September bloom. (I didn't realize that there were different types.) I don't want to take this one out; it's really doing very well. Can I plant another, type 3, clematis near it, and train it to the same support? After a couple of years it seems to me that I'd get a pretty spectacular early bloom, and then for the rest of the summer the new vine would stay pretty. Pruning would be pretty impossible; I guess the Danielle would end up getting hard-pruned too if the vines are intertwined. What do you think?
