Hey, does anybody have any tips on how I can save this cutting? Last week I took a 4 inch cutting from a Sugar Maple in my grandmother's yard. Well I trimmed all but two leaves off it and cut it under a leaf node with a wedge cut similar to how you do a scion when grafting and stuck it in a bottle of spring water after dipping it in some olivia's cloning gel.

Yesterday I put in some super thrive in the water. I think I might have put in to much because it was the equivalent to a spoon full because the end started to turn dark and looks like it collapsing in. I only have one other leaf node to cut it back to but I'm wandering it would be to short because it would only be two inches. Please let me know. Thanks.
