Grasses have movement for sure. Can you take an updated photo? It would help me... I like red-twigged dogwood shrubs... but can't tell..

Hi...I purchased Feather Reed Grass, coneflower (white swan), border pinks (dianthus kahori). This will give me three different heights. When it warms up in southern Ontario and I can plant... I'll post a pic. :)

Robin, you've probably seen these inexpensive chairs - I bought them in red, and there's a hot pink color too.... but the mushroom could pick up the grass-color look.... just an idea...

Yes, it is a big job and it's a labour of love! By the time Sept. comes I've had enough! I did have the musoka chairs in the past. Our backyard is our "cottage".

It will be fun to see what I can stuff between the rocks and what will live. I do have moss on a rock but I'll see if it continues to grow when the moisture is no longer there from the running water & pond. "Hens & chicks" (plant base only) thrive in my backyard. Always a work in progress! ;)

Ferns would look nice. There are lots of varieties, depending where you live and how much shade the spot gets.

Ferns were on the list but decided we wanted the reed grass for the eventual height and movement in the breeze. The coneflower, we will see how that works out. The pink flower will bloom all summer. Thanks for the suggestion.

Since you like tall and wispy, lemon grass may be another option or adddition in a pot or nearby. You can buy plants or if you have an Asian market close, you can buy stalks and root them in water for several weeks. I love mine, it also makes delicious healthy tea. May freeze if you have hard winters. Your finished planting looks lovely!.
