Bathtub installed backwards

Our Duravit D-Code center-drain, drop-in bathtub was installed and the bathroom has been tiled and completed. I just realized that our contractor installed the bathtub in the wrong direction -- with the overflow and drain on the far wall (which is an exterior wall). If there were ever a problem with the overflow drain, we couldn't get to it without wrecking things to pull out the entire tub. Alternatively, if it had been installed correctly, we'd only have to break through the tiling that goes up the side of the tub to access the drain and pipes. We are just using it as a bathtub, there are no complicating extras like jets or lights, so I imagine it will really be highly unlikely that we would need to access the drain. Or is this not the case?

Thank you!
