A house full of marmoleum/lino is unusual. Sheet lino is the most common form that has all the "easy to care for" options. It is also quite expensive. Marmoleum has created a click-together floor that can go everywhere but NOT a bathroom....which means the sheet version would have to be used in that space. The click system has the easy install but some of the water proofing is lost because of the installation format.

When working with sheet marmoleum throughout a home, you will want to stay away from the "hospital" look. To do that, you can work with the high-end (ahem...expensive) 3-4 colour swirl designs that marmoleum is famous for. This keeps it fun, colourful and, above all, non-institutional.

If you are looking for insulating value, then cork is the better option. The insulating properties from linoleum comes from the cork content. A cork floor will have much, much more insulation than lino...because cork has more cork than lino (funny that).

"A house full of marmoleum/lino" would be unusual, but the smell factor would be awesome! ...same with cork.

Find an installer who actually is familiar with linoleum (Marmoleum is just a brand name for linoleum). Too many people use the terms linoleum and sheet vinyl interchangeably. They're not identical and don't install (seams, etc.) the same way.

If you're looking at true linoleum, look into the maintenance requirements before jumping in with both feet.
