While looking at my Babies (DRs) after watering them this morning, I came across my first seed pod! I know for all the veteran growers out there this is old hat but for me "today" a proud moment hopefully later I'll still be as enthusiastic about each new addition. I took a picture of the pod and the two small DRs I was contemplating which was more Beautiful but just like your children, they are all equally beautiful with their own uniqueness. Some people have asked me when I was going to give them one of my DRs, I say when they get older and my seedlings grow up but I know I won't be able to part with them

so I bought one from Walmart and gave it to her. Even then it was hard to give that one away! LOL

Thanks John, Martin and Rachel, you especially Rachel your Beautiful DRs were quite an inspiration. I've learned so much from everyone around the world, maybe we should get the leaders of our nation's growing Adeniums! LOL More good news, I ordered some Arabicums from MR Dino in Thailand!

Like the Obesum, love the Arabicums especially the ones with the centipede roots!

Ooooh new arabicums coming from Dino. They should be really nice specimens. Don't forget to post photos when you get them! (I assume the ones above are just an example.) You are definitely going to need to build more plant stands like that other one you showed us. :)

Yes, all his I've seen posted are very nice but I still think your Obesums are the nicest I've seen!

When I look at your collection growing, I really can appreciate, just how wonderful a collection you are going to have in years to come. You are fortunate to have this forum to help you along the way.

When my husband & I first started collecting DR's just over 15yrs ago there was little to no information about growing adeniums on the web, let alone in Australia. I remember the amount of nurseries we visited here trying to find desert roses. Most of our nurseries had never heard of adeniums. I can still remember my excitement when I first discovered on the web that DR's came in 'single' white & red colours. Lol (We knew we just had to have them, & my first single white is still my favourite.) This was before they were able to create double/triple flowers. When I think of some of the DR's we threw away in the beginning with root rot, because there was no info on how to save them - it makes my heart break. It really was a steep learning curve!... So, when someone says "I have my first seed pod" it reminds me of how we felt when we had our first seed pod. It's like a trip down memory lane - like looking through an old photo album.... Geez - that makes me sound old. Trust me, I'm not really that old. :D Soooo, enjoy your plants Ray, and I hope you never lose that feeling of excitement that you have now. Happy growing :)
