I would either get a new lawn guy or mark the area with a cylinder of wire mesh, anchored to the ground so he knows there is something planted there. Tidy mulch around the area may help also. Many plants will come back from the roots once, but having it happen repeatedly will most likely kill it, so that's why you want its spot clearly marked. I don't know if yours was established enough to regrow, but I'd give it a couple of months. Crossvine is a fairly resilient plant, and it probably was growing roots since it wasn't showing top growth, so I would think that there's a good chance it will come back.

I think it's growing back....not sure yet but I feel like there are signs of life and i'm hoping it's my vine and not some weed.
