Hi everyone, sorry if this is in the wrong section but i could not find anything for rain barrels.

I just bought the algreen ecocascata 65 gallon rain barrel and i see they say to use the plantar on top, you need to drill a while in the plantar area for drainage. I'm just wondering before i make a hole in my new rain barrel, won't soil from the plantar slowly fall into the rain barrel?

Do you have any suggestions how i could safely create drainage without soil going through?
