Thanks, Jay. I ve got a bunch of the pink Incarnata started and am looking forward to when they are big enough to plant out. Any problem with volunteers?

They can reseed,but I never have more than one or two volunteers that pull up easy.

Deadheading will insure no volunteers show up at all. I had some yellow aphids on my A.incarnata last year and just let them be and within 2 weeks some predators discovered them and they were no more.The clump still looked great.Better to let nature take care of it for you.

I agree. We usually enough rain all summer to keep down infestations. Otherwise, I m with you and let nature take it s course (maybe hiding it behind another plant haha)

When you have to wait 3 weeks to cold stratify these seeds, it seems like forever. But boy oh boy, it makes up for lost time quickly. I can't believe how quickly my seedlings are taking off. They love all this heat we re having. Even my one "shoot" plant is taking off and has grown a foot taller and is now pushing up another branch from the base. Guess I m going to have to try ice ballet! My white giant milkweed seeds should be here next week.

Hi wanna, I was wondering in your original statement you mentioned A. incarnata Ballerina,and also A. incarnata Ice Ballet. It was the Ice Ballet I was referring to when I said it had white flowers.As far as I know,there is no cultivar called Ballerina,but if there is I'm hoping it has white flowers also because the name is so similar.It's easy to get confused.
