P.S. My husband doesn't want a mirror in this room, so that isn't an option. Ugh.

It'd be a great idea to paint the walls in the same colour but just a bit lighter.I didn't notice any lighting products but a great pendant can look well into this room.What about new curtains or maybe a bookcase ? It's cool moving the picture above the sofa into the place where the 2 other photos are and maybe in the place of it u can put a triptych painting!On the second picture on the wall not the one behind the chair but the one opposite you can place frames with family photos and under this maybe a chest of drawers !

Hello Sue, I am afraid you will need more furniture to make the room homey, I think you need a full length drapery rod, wider than your windows for your drapery , add an extra panel on each ,do not hide the width of the window but hide the frame only, it will make the window appear wider and warm up that wall. Take everything off your walls repair holes etc... than play with the placement of your furniture a bit, I would try and move the love seat where grandma's chair is against the wall with the 2 small pics, then center it, take the console away also, move the sofa ahead quite a bit so its arms join the arms of the love seat, place the end table there (similar to the way you have it now but nearer the fireplace). try the console between the windows , if you have to keep grandma's chair put it in the corner where the end table was with a floor lamp so you can use it to read , knit etc... I personally would put it in a bedroom somewhere. Put the larger art above the love seat where you had the 2 small pics, but much lower about 6" above the love seat's back cushions. The sculptural piece might look nice above the console, but you need to put a lamp on one side of the console and a couple of ornaments on the other side (a couple of candlesticks or a flower bowl and small sculpture) lower than the lamp and offset the wall sculpture above those, again about 6 " . The 2 small pics, I would try on the wall where the sculpture art was, closer together about 5-6" in between, the height of those was fine, but they need the closeness to make sense . As I don't see the rest of the room It is difficult to tell you what else would maybe work, Maybe you could add extra pictures of your room so we can help further, in any case , try my ideas and see , for now. have fun.

I would put in some big floor lamps. Check out Manhattan Home Designs Arco floor lamp or Barcelona-Designs Arco Sunflower floor lamp. Either one would look awesome in the room.

I would use a full length rod, and add two panels to each window leaving them opened all the way. Which i like them. I would just purchase two new pillows of the solid colors in drapes and add to sofa, keep those. I would add a floating shelf over the picture, lower it a little, and put a nice couple of vases in the two shades of pillows, and a small ivy plant. And purchase a rug to match the drapes, using the least color in drapes as the background to rug, and most color as the least in rug. Doing the opposite of the drapes in the rug. And then just use an ottoman, in the color of drapes. Not sure if that is grey or not.
