Braided Avocados - Revisited

Hi Everyone! I'm new to this forum and new to avocado growing but wanted to share my recent project success. It's now May and I started in November. A friend at work brought in a bag of avo's that he got from a tree he helped trim. They were smallish and oblong, smooth skinned and very oily, and all the seeds were bustin' out roots already. So, I sprouted two of those and couple Hass from the market with the idea that I could braid them like a ficus and get a tree that would produce someday. There was an inspirational post in the Bonzai forum from last year but the poster hasn't updated the results of his braiding attempt so I'm posting to see if anyone else has tried this. I'm in southern california near the beach so we get fog one week and desert winds the next. I started the plants on top of the refrigerator and keep them on the shaded patio to protect from extreme exposure, bringing them out into the sun every few days. Just braided the three largest stalks today.
