Could they be H. xJohnsonii and H. vittatum?

Well, I am thinking that your very last one is a lovely version of vittatum as pterodroma suggests. Some are prettier than others. Did you test it for fragrance, they usually are. The prettiest ones to me have the red in the throat which yours does. I used to have one very similar to this one but it's gone to hippy heaven.

I like the middle one with the long white stripe down each petal with its slightly undulating shape and I'm thinking/guessing that both the first and middle are heirlooms most likely with johnsonii in them; but the middle one with that shape might have some papilio in it from way back....just guessing of course.

They are all lovely!!

I just happened to notice in picture # 4 some striped leaves. What were those attached to??

These Southern heirloom varieties are difficult for me to identify.

The first, second, and third pictures are from a very floriferous and very reproductive little variety in my grandmother's garden. There is no information other than they came from a woman who died in the late 50s or early 60s

the middle one with the long stripes and a bit of undulation are the variety from my great-grandmother's garden. I did see advanced seed pods on them at a home with mixed hippies and at a home that just had this variety....so maybe self fertile?

The vittatum-esque flower was very fragrant!

Of course, I gathered pollen.

Donna, the striped leaves are from a stokesia.

Any idea what this lovely might be?

As regards the leaves with a White midrib, in pic 4 - it is not what you might have in mind, Donna! They are from a dicotyledon plant, i guess it is a narrow leaved Oenothera ("Nachtkerze" in my language = "Night candle") - so, my question at lokai99 is: Will they produce a yellow Bloom like Oenothera as shown by GOOGLE / IMAGES

I believe the leaf with the white midrib is a stokesia. It has a very interesting blue flower.

they are all very beautiful and from the pictures I've seen I would also say that the second is x Johnsonii and the last is a very lovely Vittatum hybrid. Congratulations to your finds! And please tell us to which plant the striped leaves belong :-) I'm not a specialist in Oenothera but the ones we have in the garden look different.I love them because they are the only plant I know where you can really watch the opening of the flower!
