Click beetle! Love the big ones. Hold him tight in your hand and he'll click. I don't know the species of yours but the spots on some are luminescent.

It is a common one, "Eyed Elater" (Elateridae family).

Alaus oculatus is the species name.

Place upside down and it will click to upright position, unlike most beetles that struggle a while.
